We, humans, are visual creatures. Our curiosity comes from what we see and observations have always been in the heart of science. From ancient times we are trying to understand how our world works just by looking at it. Despite our huge progresses, we still have a lot to discover. We have satellites to check every square centimetre of land, orbital telescopes to look into deep space, and still an incredibly diverse and yet unknown universe hide beneath water’s surface - the World Ocean. We want to show you the most amazing inhabitants of this unseen world and learn more about our planet together with all the curious minds.
LIVING IN THE FIELD
Being marine biologists and spending most of our time underwater, we call ourselves “Naturalists of the 21st century", armed with the most advanced imaging technologies instead of pencils and field notebooks. We love every single worm down there, but our research is focused mostly on plankton - on ethereal, weird and wildly beautiful creatures, whose role in the ocean is so vast that we still can't completely understand it. Their lives cannot be studied in any other way than by extensive observation in their natural habitat. And that is exactly what we are doing.
Where art meets science incredible things happen. Meeting weird alien-looking creatures and documenting their life, we often get fantastic photos and videos that amaze and inspire people all around the world. To gather everything together and promote our approach to science and visual exploration we set up Aquatilis Foundation, which will help everyone to engage in science and get an opportunity to discover our world from the new surprising sides.
